When to Book (Spoiler: Earlier Than You Think)
Austin-area high school proms are concentrated in April and May. The best vehicles — Escalade Stretches, Chrysler 300 Stretches, Sprinter Party Buses — book 6-8 weeks in advance for prom night Saturdays. Once your student knows their prom date, that is the date to call us.
Not two weeks before. Not one week before. Definitely not three days before (though we will do everything we possibly can to help if you're in that situation — we're not heartless, just operating with the vehicles we have available).
⚠️ The prom booking window is real: For Saturday nights in April and May, our event vehicles book out completely. This is not a sales pressure tactic. It's the reality of how Austin prom season works. Book when you get the date.
Safety: The Only Thing That Actually Matters
Every Purple Heart Limo chauffeur is background-checked, drug-tested, and trained to enforce our zero-tolerance underage drinking policy. This is non-negotiable and applies to every ride, every time. Our chauffeurs will not look the other way, and they have full authority to end a ride if the policy is violated. We have terminated rides for violations. We would do it again. Parents sleep soundly when their kids ride with us. That is entirely intentional.
When you're comparing limo companies for prom, ask each company directly about their underage drinking policy enforcement. The answer tells you a great deal about how seriously they take the responsibility of transporting your child.
What Vehicle to Choose
- Groups of 6-10: The Chrysler 300 Stretch Limo — the classic choice. Always impresses. The interior lighting, the long wheelbase, the sheer drama of pulling up — it delivers exactly what prom transportation should deliver.
- Groups of 10-14: The Escalade Stretch SUV — the current crowd favorite and for good reason. It's massive, modern, turns every head in the drop-off line, and arriving in an Escalade Stretch is a memory your student will talk about for years.
- Groups of 14+: The Sprinter Party Bus fits the whole friend group and keeps everyone together all evening. When you're coordinating dinner + prom + after-party, a single vehicle that holds the entire group simplifies everything dramatically.
Coordinating the Prom Night Route
A typical Austin prom night goes: photos at home → pickup of additional friends → dinner → prom venue → post-prom party → home. Your driver stays with your group for the entire evening. Discuss the route and timing when you book so we can build a realistic timeline that keeps everyone on schedule without rushing the dinner or the entrance to prom.
Communicate any address changes or timing updates directly to your driver's cell number (provided before the ride). Our drivers are professionals who handle prom logistics every spring — they're used to group dynamics, helpful with coordination, and patient with the inevitable "we need 10 more minutes for photos" situation.
